The first Parallel Society of Ecuadorian Scientists (SPCE) was founded on May 6, 2026, by the Ecuadorian scientist Donato Benincasa Paredes, as an independent scientific organization aimed at integrating, articulating, and strengthening parallel and alternative scientific communities in Ecuador and around the world.

Its creation represents the birth of the first parallel scientific society in world history, establishing a new model for the organization of knowledge based on open participation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the global democratization of science.

The Parallel Society of Ecuadorian Scientists emerges as a pioneering initiative born in Ecuador, conceived as a space primarily dedicated to independent scientists, autodidacts, alternative researchers, innovators, and individuals without a university degree who possess a genuine interest in scientific development and critical thinking.

The SPCE recognizes that scientific talent does not depend exclusively on traditional academic structures, but also on creativity, discipline, autonomous research, and the ability to develop ideas, theories, and projects with scientific value.

Likewise, the society maintains its doors open to scientists and professionals with university degrees, promoting a model of integration where traditional researchers and independent scientists can coexist within the same community of intellectual and scientific cooperation.

Women and men scientists without a university degree will receive full support within the SPCE, just like those with academic degrees. All members will be considered equal within the scientific framework of the organization, recognizing their ability, commitment, and contribution to knowledge.

Membership in the Parallel Society of Ecuadorian Scientists is completely free for all individuals, with no cost, economic requirement, or academic restriction, guaranteeing open, inclusive, and universal access to science, research, and innovation.
