The Ecuador Idea Bank (BIE) was founded on May 6, 2026, by Ecuadorian scientist Donato Benincasa Paredes, Director General and Founder of the Idea Bank, as an independent organization focused on the collection, evaluation, development, and transformation of ideas into scientific, technological, social, and productive projects.

The Ecuador Idea Bank is both a virtual and in-person platform designed for the registration, exchange, sale, recommendation, or donation of ideas. It operates as an open system that allows individuals to share their creativity with other people, institutions, or entities interested in developing those ideas. In this way, it serves as a collaborative innovation space that integrates digital interaction with direct engagement through physical offices.

The BIE is recognized as the first and pioneering Idea Bank in Ecuador, Latin America, and worldwide, establishing an institutional model dedicated exclusively to the organized management of ideas as innovation assets, with a scientific, social, and productive focus.

The main objective of the Idea Bank is to recognize the value of ideas as the foundation of human development, allowing creators to freely decide whether they wish to sell, share, or donate their ideas, thereby promoting a knowledge-based economy driven by creativity and innovation.

Participation in the Ecuador Idea Bank is completely free of charge, with no academic requirements or participation fees, guaranteeing universal, inclusive, and democratic access to the generation, management, and exchange of ideas.

Likewise, annual elections are established to ensure the democratization of institutional leadership, promoting the active participation of members in decision-making processes and the transparent renewal of authorities.
